Note 2: For this code to work you must make a copy of an already-existing save. This cheat will give you access to the Aztec and Egyptian hidden levels, but some of the other levels may become unavailable! Because of this we recommend you back-up your saved game.
I have put this bit on here to answer all the "How do I enter Action Replay Codes?" e-mails I keep getting. In order to enter AR codes, you have to have a piece of hardware called a Pro Action Replay. This is a cartridge that slots into your N64, and you then slot your game into the top of the Pro Action Replay. So you have to buy this highly useful piece of kit for about £50, and then you will be able to get cheats for EVERY single N64 game! If you live in the US, you have to use a Gameshark, which is exactly the same, except it works on your US N64 and has different codes. Gameshark codes do not work on Pro Action Replays and AR Codes do not work on Gamesharks.Visit Datel, the makers of the Action Replay, at http://www.datel.co.uk .
By the way, the Line Mode cheat cannot be earned; it's only available with the Action Replay code.
This code opens up all of the characters in Multi-Player mode, including 31 that are not available any other way (most based on Rare staff).
This is a long code with 10 steps. You can enter this code anywhere, but it's best to do it on the Multi-Player Character Select screen while looking at the last available character (Mishkin or Moonraker Elite). Then:
1. Hold the L and R Buttons and press Left-C (the left C button).
2. Hold the L Button and press Up-C.
3. Hold the L and R Buttons and press Left on the digital Control Pad (NOT the Control Stick).
4. Hold the L Button and press Right on
the Control Pad.
5. Hold the R Button and press Down on the Control Pad.
6. Hold the L and R Buttons and press Left-C.
7. Hold the L Button and press Up-C.
8. Hold the L and R Buttons and press Right on the Control Pad.
9. Hold the L and R Buttons and press Down-C.
10. Hold the L Button and press Down on the Control Pad.
No sound is made to indicate the code was successfully entered. If you entered the code correctly, you will be able to select from nearly double the characters you had access to before. Note that this code will open all of the hidden characters, whether you've finished the game or not. One drawback is that the game will not save the code, so you'll have to re-enter it every time you want to use the extra characters!
